Turkiye Manufacturing PMI Falls to 47.3 in October, Marking Fastest Contraction Since June

Turkiye's manufacturing sector contracted at its fastest pace since June, with the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Turkiye Manufacturing PMI, compiled by S&P Global, falling to 47.3 in October from 47.9 in September. Output declined for a fifth straight month, while new orders fell for a 40th consecutive month. The data was published on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026.

What it means for companies

The survey points to continued weakness in demand: new orders declined for a 40th consecutive month, with the sharpest drop since July, and export orders also softened.

Input costs and output prices rose in October, though at a slower rate than in September; 29% of surveyed manufacturers reported higher input prices, citing oil, raw materials and exchange rate weakness.

Despite the contraction, manufacturers still expect output to rise over the coming year, although confidence slipped to a three-month low, and employment declined only modestly, which S&P Global suggested may help limit further moderation in output.
